We raise collies for the love of the breed.
AKC describes collies as playful, protective, and affectionate dogs who have a natural affinity for children and are devoted to their families. Not to be confused with Border Collies, the Collie breed needs only moderate exercise and, after a game of catch they are often excellent couch potatoes. Collies are intelligent, easily trained, and respond exceptionally well to gentle training techniques.
At Cor Collies, we prioritize exceptional health and temperament. Every dog in our program has been fully health-tested and has a gentle and adaptable demeanor.
We raise every puppy with our hearts so they can fill the hearts of everyone they meet. This heartfulness is where our kennel name comes from—”cor” is the Latin word for heart.
Sampa is our foundation dam and is a phenomenal family dog. She has the remarkable ability to match our pace, and is happy to lounge around the house on a slow day or join us for an all-day hike at the drop of a hat. If she’s with her people, she is a happy dog.
She is completely unfazed by loud noises (fireworks, thunder, and loud children included) and is unique among collies in that she's not much of a barker, even when all the other dogs in our neighborhood get going.
We keep chickens and rabbits in our backyard, and I can leave her off-leash with them while they roam. She makes fast friends with everyone she meets—no matter the species!
